“Life is a festival only to the wise.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson
It’s upon us, the season of festivities and I am very very excited. Ever since i was a little girl, I looked forward to Diwali for the kind of happy vibe this festival brings with it. Lots of shopping, craziness in the markets, everybody cleaning the house and a lot more happening at the same time. The best part is the bling and lights around every corner, feels like there is wedding happening in every home. Speaking of bling, another exciting thing is you get to wear new pretty dresses and show off your ethnic side. It’s time to take out all your wedding and traditional outfits, style them up and get all dolled up for the night.
I decided to wear this gorgeous navy blue floor length Anarkali suit as it was perfect for the occasion. I like its collared neckline and broad golden border at the bottom which gives it a smarter look. The floral detailing on the sleeves makes this outfit standout even more. The good part about this dress is that it looks heavy but it’s actually not. The reason being it has no stone embellishments instead it is having thread work.
I love how this outfit is a statement in itself so I just added a pair of chunky earrings and a ring. Along with these I wore golden heels, left my hair open and I was good to go. A festival like Diwali gives us an opportunity to be as ethnic and traditional as we want. This is my take on festive fashion, what’s yours? Share your thoughts in the comment section below. I would love to have your suggestions.
