Welcome to Glamattire. Not many of you may know that I’ve spent around 15 years of my life in the most colourful and vibrant state of India- Rajasthan. There is something about that place that makes you wanna visit again and again, you cannot absorb it all at once. The colours of Rajasthan are impossible to ignore- the greens, yellows, reds, oranges….aah..simply beautiful.
In my case, ever since I was a kid I always got fascinated about those gypsy Banjaran aunties who used to wear colourful ghagra-cholis and a whole lot of jewellery on a daily basis. I mean, that is their typical dressing for everyday and when I talk about jewellery…trust me it will awe you off. So this time my inspiration was the Banjaran look.
I decided to give this outfit a modern twist along with keeping its ethnicity intact. Believe it or not I got this dress from Sarojini nagar and the moment I saw it, I was like I want this at any cost. It’s a beige colour maxi dress with beautiful Rajasthani prints all over it. I wore it with a statement corset belt which cinches the dress in all the right places and adds a contemporary look to this outfit. For jewellery I went with an antique brass necklace with oxidised golden jhumkis. Along with them I wore some brass kada bangles and some rings off-course. I styled it with a black sling bag, some reflective sunglasses and black loafers and that completes my look.
This look is different and perfect for a traditional occasion or even while travelling. It is comfortable and easy to carry. If any day you want to add that rajasthani banjaran element to your outfit then this look is for you. I hope you guys liked this post and found some inspiration.
